Each spring, Minnesota farmers discover the earth has once again given birth to stones of every imaginable shape and size. The stones have magically popped to the surface of the farmer's field, hence they are called field stone. This phenomenon is due to the cyclical freezing and thawing of the ground. Then the finest of these fieldstones are selected and a unique iron work is added to create one of a kind sculptures.
Each piece is surface treated to allow subtle natural aging that adds character to their enduring beauty.
Each bird has its own character based on the rock used. Every bird will vary slightly from the picture shown here.
